Dothan,
Alabama
and
moved
to
Okeechobee
in
1960.
She
has
been
married
18
years
to
Paul
"Bubba"
Helton.
Together
they
own
and
operate
Garrard
Tackle
Shop
in
Okeechobee.
On a daily basis, Ms. Helton sees first hand the concerns and interests of local residents and tourists. Her store is open seven days a week and welcomes friends and patrons to stop by. She has developed a strong business background over the years and feels this will help her with county decisions. The conditions of Lake Okeechobee are of great concern to Ms. Helton and one to which she will be committed. She knows that hundreds of people in this community rely on the lake and the revenue it generates. Mrs. Helton believes in bringing proper growth to Okeechobee County with small business development as well as new industry. Her goal is to work hard for the citizens of our community and bring progress to Okeechobee County.
